New exciting functions with the a7RVI Memory Recall

New exciting functions with the a7RVI Memory Recall

These are great news which I found out from another user: Sony has introduced 10 memory recall slots that can be saved directly into the camera body, so they don’t get lost when you format your SD card. Even better, you can type a custom title directly for each slot, meaning you should be able to name them after your specific film simulation recipes!

Are my 3-month-old peppers permanently stunted?

They were doing great until a month-long cold snap forced them indoors, had to keep them in less than optimal conditions (6–10°C at night, 4 hours of sun). They’ve been back outside for a full month now but haven't grown, and some tiny ones are already trying to flower. Even the bigger plant which was kept at warmth stopped growing after uppotting.

Are they permanently stunted from the cold, or are they just focusing on root growth before a comeback? Thanks!

Made a free recipe after RAW preset

A few months ago, someone asked for a film recipe that matched the vibe of a specific RAW preset, and finally decide to recreate it! I originally shared these settings in that old thread, but I wanted to make a new post so more people could see it.

For this final version, I dialed back the saturation a bit so the oranges aren't quite as intense. Enjoy, and I can't wait to see your shots!

What should we name this recipe?

I don't usually bother recreating user designed Fujifilm recipes, but I kept getting requests for this one so I finally thought fuck it, let’s do it.

Here’s a straight comparison and the settings. This was shot on an a6700 with the Sony 16-55mm G compared to the Fuji X-T5. Obviously, different glass and sensors have their own DNA, so results vary depending on the gear you're using, but this comes super close straight out of camera. In the end I was so surprised by the results that I actually had to double-check I hadn't mixed up the files by accident.

One thing I noticed is that the a6700 needs to be underexposed by about half a stop to match the X-T5 exposure.

Anyway, here is the recipe. Have fun, & I can't wait to see your shots!
