I just opened my brand new Prym Maxi, which I purchased in store from Spotlight (an Australian retailer). It came sealed in box and everything seems to be included and wrapped in the original plastic but it has yarn already on the round… is this unusual?

I’m worried it was a faulty return sold as new. Is there anything I should be testing off the bat to check if it’s in working condition? Any help is greatly appreciated!
