I understand it’s part of the show’s formula but ever since Love Island became mainstream, the islanders want to stay in the villa to get as much fame/screen time as possible and so everybody’s just picking one person day 1 and staying with them until the end, not because it’s the best connection, but because they don’t wanna risk going home.

A majority of the couples have hardly explored anyone else aside from the obligatory “here damn” conversation that production probably made them do, then they never speak to the bombshell again.

The pressure to stay secure so they’re not vulnerable/dumped is literally turning this into marriage island and none of the couples are even cute or buzzy this year cause no one’s with their best match cause everyone’s too busy trying to get more screen time rather than focusing on finding the right person for them. Half these relationships are a literal walking train wreck but they’re gonna stay together anyway cause exploring a bombshell puts them at more risk for being dumped than just grinning and bearing their current connection.

They know if they’re on the show till the end, all the brand deals and followers will be waiting for them when they get back. It’s making the season boring for us cause literally none of these couples feel cute or like real lovers to me.

TLDR: Nobody’s exploring because nobody wants to be vulnerable/dumped but it’s literally ruining the show and making it boring from the viewer’s pov.
