Is a ScreenBar actually worth it?

I’ve been thinking of purchasing a BenQ ScreenBar for weeks now, but I’m not too sure how much it would help, especially for that price tag.

There are much cheaper options on Amazon, so I’m curious about the opinions of those who have either the BenQ or an alternative? Is a screenbar that helpful? Did it feel like your overall quality of WFH life improved with a screenbar? Would you suggest to push through buying the BenQ or are the cheaper alternatives just as good? Am I just getting influenced by their marketing?

New to WFH (and the US), need recommendations on WFH essentials

I'm an experienced professional who recently moved to the US. I was lucky and recently landed a 100% remote job in analytics (their system isn't fleshed out just yet, but there will be a lot of spreadsheets and project management).

I would have a separate room to setup my office (current guest room so there'll be a bed nobody uses), but I'm technically building my WFH setup from the ground up with little idea on brands and low-cost spending. I believe my job will only send a Dell laptop and some necessary peripherals (still on its way). Note that while I have pretty good savings, I plan on eventually upgrading my setup for personal use (gaming, etc.) once my income is steadier.

Recommend me a few of your essentials while keeping costs reasonable. So far, I only have:

  • Standing Desk I got from Costco (Tresanti Aurora 47” Adjustable Height Desk with LED Lighting)
  • Logitech Mouse
  • Common office/work chair
  • MacBook Pro (that I won't be using for work)
  • Apple Magic Keyboard (which I hate and won't be using for work)
  • Desk Pad

I especially would want brand/product recommendations on monitors, keyboard, office chair, lighting, QOLs, (and eventually, CPUs for gaming I plan on purchasing down the line), etc. while keeping costs reasonable (they don't have to be ultra low-cost, but definitely should have value/where I can get the most "bang for my buck").

*English not my first language!

Am I doing something wrong?

I was diagnosed with PCOS in my teens and was using BCP for most of my life to regularize my period. It worked and I believe I had regular monthly periods for years.

Fast forward to late 2024, I completely dropped BCPs because I was immigrating soon and it was not economical to do them anymore (quit my job & was unemployed + no longer sexually active). I moved to the US in mid-2025 where inositol and berberine are more accessible. I immediately bought Ovasitol for Inositol and a Berberine product and took the recommended amounts daily.

It was great going for around 6 months, I got my regular periods back (since it stopped when I stopped taking BCPs) despite gaining weight (probably because I was eating more). I thought inositol and berberine were the holy grails (thanks, internet!) because I felt more energetic and still had regular periods.

But suddenly, my period stopped in January 2026. Haven’t had one since. Also started gaining more weight despite controlled diet, inositol + berberine + multivitamins + fish oil, and drinking spearmint tea twice a day. Am I doing something wrong? Hopital?
