domesticating a NY subpoena in Miami Dade County?

hi all! does anyone know the process of issuing / domesticating a SDT from New York in Miami Dade county Florida? I have been trying to call the clerk of court for two days but can’t get through to anyone and there is no email available online. The subpoena forms are also related to family law and I just don’t know the process at all.

can anyone please help? coworkers have experience with other counties but not Miami-Dade and everything seems to be different.

Thank you so much!!!

kitten is adjusting well but advice needed!

hi all! an update from the last post! Rumi has been adjusting well in that she has begun to leave the bathroom slowly to explore adjacent bedrooms. it’s day 5 of her at our home! But, she is still hiding under nightstands or beds in the rooms and not really venturing into the living room or kitchen where we have set up her cat tree and are planning to keep her food.

her toys are in the hallway near whatever room she chooses to hide in for the day and her dry food and water are still in the bathroom. do you think we should move it to the kitchen she’s in? she is also not eating a lot, barely eating half a can of kitten fancy feast in the morning and at night. breeder told me that she used to eat 2 full cans a day! she is however, loving Churu and Temptations.

Rumi is very playful as well. Me and family take turns just going in the room where she’s hiding with a feather toy/string toy and she’ll come eventually and play. she has also been coming to my hands and running into them, for pets, I think. She loves a chin and head scratch and immediately lies down when my hands are near her, belly up. i’ll pet her and scratch her and sometimes she tries to bite my hand. As a first time cat owner, this kinda scares me and I try to not pet her for a bit and instead direct that energy to a fish plush she loves to bite and bunny kick. Is that behavior normal?

also she’s been meowing at night when we all close our bedrooms so I’ve defaulted to at least having my door ajar. sometimes she’ll come and jump on the bed and other times she just explores.

any ideas on how to motivate her to explore more of the house or eat more? is this something that will just take time?

she has been doing great so far and I don’t want to push her. it would be helpful to hear on how your kittens/cats adjusted to your homes and how long it took.

what good habits do you think I should work on with her?

my sweet girl is finally home

hi everyone! introducing Rumi 🌹♥️

she is about to turn 4 months in 4 days and we just brought her to her forever home. we are keeping her in the bathroom (our only small room) and my poor baby is pretty scared right now and hiding. she is taking pets from us but not playing or eating yet. we are checking in on her every half hour but she has somehow managed to find the only hiding space in the room and has been sitting there.

i don’t want to overwhelm her at all. the room has a couple of toys, her dry food and water, and her litter box.

will appreciate any tips on how to get her to feel more comfortable around us! thanks in advance! i’m a first meowmy and can’t to love her. actually,,, i already do!

EDIT: she is hiding behind the toilet or behind her litter box, sometimes into her carrier we are keeping in the room. she ate one whole Churu earlier (so cutely!!) and is taking pets from us but still hiding. she hasn’t touched her water or her dry/wet food. we are in nyc and so only have one br we have to use often. she isn’t bothered by the flushing or the sink but tends to move hiding spots when someone uses the sink for a long time.

does anyone have any tips to get her to feel calmer?

her breeder said this is normal and due to her leaving her home and her friends (breeder had all different types of BSHs sharing the space). i just feel awful right now :(

first time cat owner! advice needed

hello all! i’m a long time lover of BSH and have just recently decided to go forward with adopting one from a cattery. see baby girl above. we will be picking her up this coming friday and have been buying up all the essentials for her, recommended by her breeder. she was born on march 28 so by the time we bring her home she will almost be 4 months.

i am a first time pet owner so would love to hear your advice on how you welcomed your kitty to your home. I live with my parents and my brother drops by on occasion. we are in NYC so we don’t have the most space but big enough for her explore. we have 3 bedrooms.

how should we make sure her first couple of days are comfortable? we have decided to put her litter box in the bathroom and will be keeping her food in the kitchen. i’ve purchased a cat tree and a scratching board we will put in the living room by the windows. should we let her explore when she comes in day 1 and after we open up her carrier? should I follow her as she explores? is it better to let her come out first in the bathroom by the litter?

i’ve also bought a bunch of toys. i’m super excited. i have a tough work life but have been working for home more. parents are usually home all the time so there will be someone to play with her and look after her.

appreciate your thoughts! i’m so nervous but also so excited. thanks!
