Hi! I’m planning to visit Sicily in September. I’ll be arriving in Trapani, and I was wondering if it’s a good idea to use Trapani as a base to visit San Vito Lo Capo and the Egadi Islands. Are public transport connections good enough for day trips? I’m also thinking of using Palermo and Catania as bases for other parts of the trip. Would you recommend staying in Cefalù, Taormina, or Syracuse instead? My main concern is choosing places with good public transport connections so that I can easily take day trips to nearby towns and attractions without renting a car. Also, are the beaches around Syracuse nice and easy to reach by public transport? Thank you for any advice!
