This is a 1953 Mercury "Custom". It has a 255 flathead v8 and a column shift 3 speed with overdrive, '53 being the last year for flatheads before the Y-block was introduced. It appears to have been parked since 1988, I purchased it from someone who had it for not that long but picked it up as a project and never got to doing anything with it. We'll see if it can run and drive for the first time in 38 years.

This is a 1970 Ford Thunderbird. Just a couple miles from me, this house was closing a sale and the owner was trying to clear out the property, which was a real mess. To get this car, I had to agree to take two other cars that were at the property, another 1970 Thunderbird and a 1967 Mercedes. All these cars were last registered about 15-17 years ago and have been neglected and ultimately used to store trash. This Thunderbird was the only one of the three that seemed savable.

This is a 1979 Plymouth Volaré "Premier" station wagon, with fake wood paneling and the slant-six engine. The car has been in the same family since new and was passed down from father to son, the son being who I got the car from. He parked it a few decades ago due to a transmission leak. He also gathered up a handful of part off another wagon, quarter panels and all, to fix this one up, but the rust has gotten past the point most would consider fixing. With the structure compromised, the car is only good for parts. Nonetheless, it will enjoy one last drive with me.

This is a 1969 Mercury Cougar with a small block 302 engine and a close ratio Toploader 4 speed manual transmission. It has been parked and stored for a few decades and definitely does not run or drive, yet.

This is a 1983 XT550, Yamaha's dual sport motorcycle. I bought it at a local yard sale where it was originally being sold for $250 or best offer. I ended up paying $600 as it had also been listed up on Facebook Marketplace for $500 and was pending pickup. The bike was last registered in 1989 and the older woman selling it didn't know much else about the bike as it was her son's project but he unfortunately passed away before doing much with it.

This is a 1974 BMW 3.0CS E9. The original owner parked the car in 1983 with around 70,000 miles on the odometer, after having extensive issues with it since brand new. Since then, the car has mostly been in storage but also kept some what drivable up to now, as it has ran a few years ago but has not been registered for road use since the 1990's. A friend of mine is currently in possession of the car and had some plans to fully restore it, but he instead gave me the opportunity to fix it up to where it can be driven as it is.

This is an early 1960's International B-160 truck. It's been sitting untouched inside a shed since about 1995. Before that, it has spent most of its life being used here around this property. I was given permission to see if I could get the truck running again and let it run down the dirt roads once more.

• This is a 1969 Lincoln Continental Mark III. It's been sitting for an unknown period of time, but I would guess it's been at least 10-20 years since the car was actually on the road. It has a high compression 460 V8, power windows, power seats, auto dimming headlights, a Cartier clock, and a few pounds of mouse nests. The seller was quite confident that all I needed was a battery and the car would be ready to go. That may have been a stretch.
