Sun shirts? Sun screen? What's your preferred UV protection?

Fresh apprentice here, about to work her very first summer in the bright California sun. What do yall do about sun exposure on your arms and body? I tried T-shirt and sun screen, but disliked feeling greasy, and having to think about re-applying. I've tried a couple brands of UV rated shirts (one from Kohl's, one from REI) and both made me feel extremely swampy.

Is there a sun shirt that doesn't feel like a trash bag? Can I wear those fluorescent t-shirts I see some construction workers wear, or are those insufficient? Should I suck it up and grease up my arms every hour? What do you guys like to do?

It's official! I'm a union sheet metal apprentice!

Aaaaah! I'm so happy I could jump over a house! I got the call last week to come in for orientation. I signed all my paperwork on Monday and had my first day on the job Tuesday. My crew so far has been great, and I'm really excited to be a part of this local. Bonus, the job I was dispatched to is very close to my house, and I am likely to remain on it until it's completion at the end of summer.

I chose sheet metal because I have a background in sewing and costume fabrication, so I felt like I had some transferrable skills. I'm excited to learn stuff in the shop, like hand fabrication and welding.

Is anyone else here in sheet metal?
