If Alysa Liu fenced in NYC, where would she fence?
I hope y'all understand what I'm trying to say with this title, lol. I know that a lot of clubs in NYC are focused on getting kids into colleges and, for adults, getting good results in Nationals. Which is all great and good, but I personally need to balance that with having fun and being around like minded people.
When Alysa Liu started skating again, she focused on having fun first, and let that guide her to personal and commercial success. But from what I understand, fencing in NYC can be so cutthroat that for many it feels like a job first and a hobby second. Is that actually the case? If so, do any of you know if there are clubs that would be more of a fit for what I'm looking for?
Thanks!
