God works in mysterious ways

Today I was just strolling around the river bank. A small girl (child labor) was trying hard to sell me aarti material. Very persistent.

I told her that I never did aarti in my life, I have no interest and I don’t have change too.

I don’t think she is more than 10 years old. But she has crazy sales/customer experience skills.

She insisted on following her so that she could break up the ₹100 note for me at a nearby shop.

I said no, don’t have time for that. So I decided fuck it, let me give her the whole ₹100. I told her to keep it and that I don’t want the product.

But she still wouldn’t let me go. She asked me to follow her to the edge of the river so that she could light up the aarti material for me because she remembered that I had earlier mentioned to her that I never did Aarti in my life.

And I did.

Man. That skill at that age while having no privilege.

I don’t think I’ve seen such a hospitable, skilled child ever.

My first thought was- she deserved to be born into a wealthy privileged family.

Then I realised that God is under no obligation to design plans as per our understanding.

I then got on with my day. Hare Krishna.

I’m here if anyone feels like they have hit rock bottom.

I (30M) recently came back to Blr leaving my wife in the US (working) due to issues with the in laws that blew out of proportion (thanks to my autistic burst of rage) who were living with us for more than 2 months. I got laid off in the US 2 years ago, post which I was living there as a dependent on my wife. Any conservative family would have problem with that. I understand it now.

Broken career, broken relationship. To add on, lost a friend to suicide due to similar problems few months ago.

Currently living with mom and dad in Rampura. They have been extremely supportive to which I’m very very grateful. I’ve also been going to therapy which has been indirectly helpful.

Last week a sudden intense wave of depression took over and I genuinely saw no hope for me. Cried like a bitch in therapy, used up their entire tissue stack.

This week I feel totally the opposite. Been listening to the Gita and the audiobook Man’s search for meaning by Victore Frankl, among other minute activities that helped me restore faith in my life and God.

The reason for writing this post is that I genuinely enjoy connecting with people, understanding their problems and talk at length about literally anything. I love to larp.

I believe all the tools to come back from rock bottom are listed in this post. (walking in the sun, exercise, loving your work and self are other tools that help)

I hope that this post is helpful to anyone who thinks that there is no hope for them. If this does not help, my dm’s are always open and also if the logistics are workable, I can meet to drink and cry your (our) sorrows away.

Take care guys, have faith in yourself and the higher power.
