We've added NSW National Parks to Hike Camp Seek

A few of us have been building Hike Camp Seek, a site for finding campsites and getting alerts when booked-out spots become available.

We've recently added NSW National Parks, with 455 campgrounds on there so far and more being added over time.

You can use the interactive map to browse campgrounds and filter by things like facilities, accommodation type and location. You can also set up cancellation alerts for places that are fully booked, so you don't have to keep checking back yourself.

If there's a campground we've missed, or you've got any feedback or suggestions, we'd love to hear it!

Here's the map if anyone wants to have a look: https://www.hikecampseek.com.au/au/map-trip-planner/

Recently updated the trip planner on our camping booking tool. Let us know what you think!

Hey guys, we've recently made some updates to the Hike Camp Seek trip planner that you might be interested in:

  • New filters to refine your search, including states, accommodation types, national parks, and facilities.
  • Assign a date to each campsite along your route, and a checkbox to track which sites you have/haven’t booked
  • Optimize the route to take between chosen campsites
  • Calculates distance and travel time for each leg of the journey
  • Multiple trips can be named and saved to your account
  • Map can be exported to Google or Apple maps which can be used offline

Would love to hear your feedback and if there are any features you'd like to see in the future!

Hike Camp Seek is a tool we built to notify of cancellations at fully booked campsites. Recent update - New Zealand’s Great Walks.

We built a cancellation alert tool because getting a spot on certain trails is becoming increasingly difficult, and it’s frustrating having to refresh a site hoping that something will pop up.

You can now use Hike Camp Seek to set up alerts for the campsites and huts along New Zealand's Great Walks, which will send you a notification when any of them open up from a cancellation.

How it works:

  • Search and select the campsites that you want to monitor
  • Set the date range you want an alert for
  • Choose which spots you’re interested in (e.g. particular hut or campsite)
  • You’ll then receive a notification if there a cancellation within these parameters

We’ve also recently added a trail map for the Great Walks, which shows the route of each track and the locations of the campsites and huts along it. The aim of this is to help plan out your hike, and easily figure out what campsites you’ll need to stay at.

This is still a pretty young project, so if you've got questions or ideas for what'd make it more useful we’d be keen to hear them.

We built a campsite cancellation alert platform for AU/NZ, featuring a trip planner and a new interactive Great Walks map. Would love to know if this is helpful!

Hey everyone,

If you’ve ever tried to book a campsite or multi-day hike in Australia or New Zealand during peak season, you know it's a complete lottery. Spots sell out instantly, but then people cancel and those openings sit on the booking systems, incredibly hard to find unless you sit there refreshing the page every five minutes.

To help make planning a bit easier, a few of us have been working on a website called HikeCampSeek, to remove the stress of trip planning and help people actually get outdoors.

How it helps:

  • Campsite Availability Notifications: You can set alerts for a fully booked campsites, and will receive real time notifications when a cancellation or new inventory opens up.
  • Interactive NZ Great Walks Map (Work-in-Progress): We just added a visual planning map specifically for New Zealand's Great Walks. It maps out the exact trail routes alongside the specific campsite and hut locations along the path to make visual planning much easier.
  • Trip Itinerary Planner: A built-in tool to help you coordinate dates, stops, and routes across different regions.

Hopefully, this saves a few people from the headache of endless page-refreshing!

We built HikeCampSeek – A campsite cancellation alert platform for AU/NZ, featuring a trip planner and a new interactive Great Walks map. Looking for feedback!

A small team of us have been working on a website called HikeCampSeek, and we’ve recently pushed some major updates that we’d love to get your feedback on!

The Problem We’re Solving

If you’ve ever tried to book a campsite or multi-day hike in Australia or New Zealand during peak season, you know it's a complete lottery. Spots sell out instantly, but then people cancel and those openings sit on the booking systems, incredibly hard to find unless you sit there refreshing the page every five minutes.

Core Features:

  • Cancellation Notifications: The platform monitors supported booking systems, and provides real time notifications when a cancellation or new inventory opens up.
  • Trip Planner: Beyond just alerts, we built a tool to help users map out and coordinate their itineraries across different regions.
  • NZ Great Walks Map (Work in progress): We’ve just added an interactive map specifically for New Zealand’s iconic Great Walks. It maps out the exact trail routes alongside the specific campsite and hut locations along the path to make visual planning much easier.
