D288 - Back-end Programming

Hi all,

I’m a little confused about how to tackle this course. I’ve looked through some Reddit guides that have given me some insight, but most of them are 1–3 years old. I was wondering if anyone who has recently passed the course could share some useful information or advice on how they approached it.

I just finished D287 – Java Frameworks, but I’ll admit I feel like I passed it on a whim. The layout of these classes can be pretty difficult to follow, and I’m not really sure what the best approach is going forward.

Should I read through all of the ZyBooks material? Should I focus more on the Udemy videos? Is there anything specific I should prioritize or avoid spending too much time on?

I’m mostly just looking for some guidance from anyone who has taken the course recently and found an approach that worked for them.

Thanks!

IntelliJ and Spring Setup - D287

Hi everyone! I transferred to WGU and recently bought a new laptop (MacBook), so I haven't had the opportunity to install the software needed for this course beforehand.

I feel a little dumb for even asking, but is there a tutorial or guide that walks through setting everything up? I’ve looked through the ZyBooks material and the Spring in Action book, but I haven’t found anything that explains how to install and configure the required software.

It’s honestly been pretty frustrating because I feel like I’m overlooking something obvious. Is there a page or resource somewhere that I’m missing?

I’d like to get everything installed and start working with it as soon as possible since I only have about a month left to finish the class. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Are Terms Normally This Strenuous?

For my 2nd term, I’m taking Discrete Math I and II, Computer Architecture, and Java Frameworks. I expected some classes to be difficult, but this current term seems like it never ends. 1st term, I went through eight classes, but these three out of the four are killing me lol. I’ll add that I transferred in. Will the rest of my terms be as difficult, or is did I hit a wall that I simply need to break through before I get some sort of relief?
