Crow parents introducing their baby and taking turns feeding

I’ve got to feed the young crow secondhand like this quite a few times, but is the closest the parents have brought their juvenile to me and my dog. The parent crows will always fly down for food, but their baby usually stays perching above. All three hung out with us for a while!

Cute little baby patiently waiting for lunch

I was walking and heard a little squeak from in the tree. I turned around and saw this little fledgling hanging out! She’s got a couple bald spots still but looks very healthy, just branching and safe up in the tree.

Fledgling’s temper tantrum

This little guy bit a tree in hangry frustration. His parents fed him plenty of dog treats after this.

I’m pretty sure this mischievous little crow wanted to try yanking my dog’s tail here. Anyway, I saw some posts and comments asking about this and the answer is yes, it is totally possible to befriend crows while walking with your dog.

Sorry for the loud noises from the dog treat bag. I carry peanuts for crows and treats for my dog. My dog is aware of the crows (watch her ears!) but associates crows with getting treats, so she’s always happy to be around them.

The very first crowbro I ever made was because a brave crow approached me after seeing my dog get treats! Crows will remember your dog the same way they remember you, and if someone else is walking your dog crows might still approach to say hello. Very rarely, certain crows will even brush up against my dog to say hello and demand treats like they do with me.
