B-T goods I recently purchased 🐈‍⬛

It started after I couldn’t find the Climax Together 1992 Compact Disc during my last trip to Japan (I mean, I kinda knew I wouldn’t) and then morphed into this. 😭 I used a proxy service to get everything here! I hadn’t used the service in nearly two years so I was unfortunately not aware of the extreme increase in shipping prices and the tariffs until after I had already made some purchases.

Something to note, although I’m sure it’s probably obvious and I knew it myself going in, is that Atsushi merch is expensive. I love all five of them so much that it makes me a little sad to see that the other members’ goods are sold at much lower value by secondhand shops… but it also makes me happy because I can purchase them without feeling the pain in my wallet. (I have rubber keychains of Yuta, Hide, and Toll/Anii! I’m sure I can find Imai for a reasonable price but definitely not Acchan) If you want to make some purchases of your own, browse carefully! I saw one listing of the plushies for over $300, even without Atsushi. I paid much less than that and my purchase included extra stuff like Fish Tank newsletters and postcards.

I will take good care of the little plushies, I promise 🥹 I can’t wait to take them around with me!

I also couldn’t resist the muffler towel with the art of the members as dogs! Imai is a dalmatian, Yuta is a shiba inu puppy (a reference to that one interview?!), Atsushi is a borzoi, Toll is a doberman, and Hide is a husky. I love art/merchthat features the members as animals!! I’ve seen them as dogs, panda darumas, cats, and doves so far.

I’ve been having a rough year, so I’m happy I got to treat myself 🥹 B-T makes me so happy!!!

B-T media collection + where to look for cds in Tokyo

Hello hello! I’m here again, this time to share photos of my B-T collection, all accumulated in June of this year💸💸💸, and to offer a little bit of advice for people who plan to do their own little B-T hunt (in Tokyo specifically) like I did :) I’m no expert, but still!

I swore to myself that I would buy as many of their albums used as I can but I really went for convenience’s sake and bought most of them at Tower Records 😔 The only ones I got used are Six/Nine, SSL, Arui wa Anarchy, and Subrosa.

I also couldn’t resist getting some of the singles (all used): “ROMANESQUE,” “21st Cherry Boy,” “GLAMOROUS,” and “BRAN-NEW LOVER.” Also in the photo are Catalogue 2005, Catalogue 1987-2016 (I couldn’t resist because of the cover art 🐈‍⬛), Catalogue THE BEST 35th anniv., and Acchan’s solo album “Ai no Wakusei.”

I also picked up some dvds and blu-rays! (SSL and Yumemiru Uchuu are used). They all work great :) (just keep the regions in mind, you wouldn’t want to buy a disc you can’t use). I plan to get more on my next trip!

Not pictured: I also bought a bit of merch (photocards, magnets, a notebook lol, keychains, tour stickers, and a towel) from Mandarake Shibuya, Nakano Broadway, and Fujioka Mikabo Mirakan. I was warned that Shibuya Mandarake is expensive. It 100% is. Most of the cds they had could be found elsewhere for much cheaper but they did have some rare finds.

For people who plan to visit Tokyo and shop: I highly recommend Disk Union!! I went to a couple of different branches and they all had B-T! Don’t expect entire discographies, but their cds were super affordable. Disk Union Nakano specifically had a bunch of dvds and blu-rays I regret not getting. I took a photo of SSL specifically because it’s literally the only album I couldn’t find at Tower Records, even though I went to at least five different branches. I made a second trip to Shibuya Mandarake and bought the used copy I had seen for 5000 yen and then a few days later saw it in Disk Union for 880 yen 😭 If you have time to search, be patient!

As expensive as Shibuya Mandarake is, I still think it’s worth a visit. B-T had its own shelf for cds/dvds/blu-rays and copies of their Fish Tank newsletter plus a little basket with some can badges and keychains. There were also goods behind a glass case with a bunch of merch for other rock bands and vkei bands.

A fair warning, as some of you may care about this: the B-T Remaster Works cds (from “HURRY UP MODE” to “COSMOS”) all have the same cd art (there isn’t really art, it’s just blank with text and the star emblem that’s on the Climax Together CD box) with the exception of the titles in their unique fonts. I was so bummed. 😭

The BOOK-OFF branches I went to in Tokyo proper had very little B-T. Obviously their stock fluctuates a lot since its dependent on people selling their possessions, but when I went to the one in Ikebukuro, for example, they had no B-T albums or singles at all and maybe two dvds. A smaller one I went to near my hotel (away from the more touristy areas) only had Subrosa.

BUT! I went to the BOOK-OFF Super Bazaar Lalaport Tokyo Bay (which is actually in Chiba, not Tokyo, so it took me 1.5 hours to get there), which had so many B-T cds (last three photos)! However, they only had two dvds and had a sign saying they are actively asking for people to sell their B-T media 😝

Something to note: most of the BOOK-OFFs I went to had BUCK-TICK under “Pop” music (look for the ハ section and B-T should have its own divider card). When I got to the Super Bazaar I was so confused because I couldn’t find any B-T cds under Pop. I was about to give up and leave but luckily I saw BOOWY out of the corner of my eye. All the B-T stuff was under 80s Rock and Pop specifically. This possibly only applies to the Super Bazaar-sized BOOK-OFFs.

If you visit Jimbocho, stop by Bunken Rock Side! I was a little overwhelmed because there were so many magazines (and I was exhausted from Nakano Broadway) but the owner was really kind!! The Fish Tank newsletter was also cheaper there than at Mandarake.

There’s a bar in Itabashi called Razzle Dazzle, and the owner is a huge B-T fan! You may have seen it on social media already, but the owner has a dedicated space in the bar with an Acchan/B-T shrine (including the actual chair from the “RONDO” music video!!). The owner is super, super kind and allows photography but be sure to be respectfuI. Everything on display is from her personal collection, so please don’t touch anything unless the owner explicitly allows you to! I know it’s common sense, but I still feel it needs to be said. I recommend the RazDaz Sour/ラズダズサワー if you like to drink and like peaches!

I know this was super long (sorry 😭), but I hope even at least one person will find this helpful!!

Photos from Fujioka + Takasaki!

Last month I visited Fujioka (Atsushi, Imai, and Hide’s hometown) and Takasaki (Toll and Yuta’s hometown) in Gunma Prefecture.

The Fujioka Mikabo Miraikan has a permanent BUCK-TICK exhibit with manhole covers featuring iconic photos of the band and their handprints + signatures. They also have some merch: keychains of the band’s handprints + signatures, coasters, a tenugui, and a t-shirt. I was hoping my trip would coincide with those of other fans, but unfortunately not 🥺 I did get to talk to some locals who, although they weren’t necessarily fans themselves, were kind enough to talk to me about the band. I think it’s not exactly common for foreigners to visit Fujioka, so they said they were happy that I visited. 🥹

I also went to Imai Shouten, Imai’s family shop. They’ve closed down recently but I spent a good few minutes just standing there, taking it all in. It’s where BT was formed, after all 😭 I read that people used to actually be able to meet Imai’s mother at the shop!

Takasaki Tower Records has a bunch of autographed BT posters on display. Kinshicho Tower Records in Sumida, Tokyo (not pictured here) also has a dedicated BT section, apparently because the manager (?) is a fan!

I hope more fans from around the world will be able to visit Fujioka and Takasaki!

Buck-Tick related places around Tokyo?

I’m going to Tokyo in mid-June, and as a new Buck-Tick fan I’m hoping I can find BT-related places. I do plan to go to Tower Records (particularly Kinshicho in Tokyo and Takasaki, Yuta and Toll’s hometown) so far.

(I actually get there the day of Hide’s birthday + concert 😭)

I know about Razzle Dazzle in Itabashi (a bar; owner is a BT fan, hence the bar name, and has various goods on display) and that’s pretty much it!

If anyone has any suggestions for where I might be able to find anything BT-related (like good places to search for their rarer CDs), even if it’s gimmicky, please let me know!
