Custom MIS
We’ve done the rounds with a few systems over the years to manage our office and factory. Starting with a google doc and currently on Shopvx. While we’re fairly happy at the moment I’m beginning to see some limitations in the system and have built add ons to it.
Nearly every printer that Ive spoken to that is using AI has toyed with the idea of building their own MIS. Just wondering has anyone here done it? What was the reason? Did you add any features to it that no one else is providing?
Some things we’ve added on. A bookmarklet that creates a folder structure based on the customer and job name when you have that order open on screen. A status board screen on the wall with jobs due and in progress. And then a ton of single use tools like renaming a spot colour, nesting on a certain sized sheet, split a file into a print file and a cut file.
