Just a thought while riding today

It would be really nice if we had street cars on lower Greenville. Obviously the city doesn’t have much rail in a lot of places, but I feel it could use some rail in the lower Greenville area especially with how much foot traffic it gets. And it would be really handy to use the street car to easily hop between each part of lower Greenville.

Why can I focus on different distances in a reflection of light? Despite the surface being one uniform distance from my eyes…

Say I’m on my phone outside. On the screen there is a picture of a monkey. Also on the screen is a reflection of a tree that is behind me. When I’m looking at the phone my eyes can focus on the monkey displayed on my screen and not focus on the reflection of the tree behind me. But if I choose to I can focus on the reflection of the tree behind me that is being cast on my screen. Making the tree sharp and in focus to my eyes, and making the monkey that is displayed on my screen blurry. How come my eyes can perceive different focal points, despite both images being placed on the same “plane of focus”, or the same distance from my eyes? ( sorry I don’t know the right terminology )
