Regular reminder to wear a helmet
I might not be making this post right now if I didn't. Just a normal day, carving around 15-20 mph at a local walking trail— far from the most intensive part of my ride— dipped into the grass on accident and lost control cause I wasn't paying enough attention. I needa work on my falls... fell forward and rolled into it somewhat decently based on my injuries, but I still wacked my helmet into the ground and just about did a somersault after sliding on my head for a sec. Well, that's a little bit of an exaggeration, but that's certainly how it felt.
Thanks to my helmet I walked away with just some road rash on my shoulder and elbow where it got around my other gear, and bruising on my hip and ribs. Was a little dizzy right after, but I feel normal now. I had someone pick me up anyway to be safe cause I wouldn't trust myself to ride all the way back after that. If I actually put my chest protector on, too, which has shoulder pads, I would've been nearly unscathed
This helmet got a good 2-3 years of service 🫡
That's all. WAFH.
(Sorry if you wanted to see the rash, it's already bandaged)
