Suddenly weird squash?

my previously very healthy and productive squash have become very strange! these are center cut squash, and something similar is happening to my honey nut squashed nearby. could it be mites? mosaic virus? something else? and is the squash still safe to eat? thank you!

First time forager…

My toddler loves mushrooms, both to eat and in the wild (shout out: On a Mushroom Day by Chris Baker!). We brought home an awesome log with turkey tail from the park the other day but this morning on a hike with her dad she got to forage (and smell!) her first chanterelles! Apparently there were so many that she got the learn the very important lesson to take only what you need and leave the rest for others.
She was so excited that she couldn’t nap, and kept sitting up to ask “Mushrooms Inside?!?”
