Land high-profile job vs gaining education

I see a number of comments/complaints about ‘such and such class is useless for FAANG,’ or sentiments along those lines. I’m going into this program because I love CS and want a deep education in it. I figure that if I successfully fill that desire through OMSCS, it will likely lead to interesting CS-related work. Folks that do this just to get a FAANG job probably are less likely to stick with a program like this and get challenging roles.

Is there any truth to that, or am I just a hippie??

So, I have seen a few subs about AI use during the program and complaints about how the ease of (essentially) ‘cheating’ hurts the program’s credibility.

This is what my gut tells me: If AI use is just to challenging for a school to detect and prevent, doesn’t that mean that hiring companies will rely more on in-person interviews to sniff out whether you really learned what claim you learned?

I’m thinking we might be more in the middle of an evolutionary process the industry will adapt to than and end to degree value.
