I work at real estate law firm, and we are representing the Buyer. The buyers mortgage broker is a personal friend of the borrower and they have been speaking on behalf of the Buyer during negotiating inspection requests and repairs etc.
Our office who is representing the buyer communicates with the Buyer and before we even get a chance to formally respond to the other side, the mortgage broker has already stepped in with lengthy responses. Is this ethical? I’ve never encountered this type of involvement from a lender, and neither has our principal attorney.
Is this within the normal realm of what a mortgage broker does? Idk seems weird to me
