When my fiancé and I get married, he is going to take my (female) last name. We have a few different reasons for this, but it’s mostly because he has wanted to change his last name for a long time. When a woman gets married and takes her husband’s last name, her original last name is called her “maiden name”. Is there something equivalent for a male or is it the same?
