I saw another post about this from a year ago but no one had an answer (and the message itself was slightly different).

When I turn on the car, the dashboard says service due in -2 days. I’ve owned the car for five weeks. It’s a 2026.

When I check the maintenance schedule, it says my next service is due in 329 days (or 6339 miles)… I’ve been trying to figure this out for a couple weeks, so it’s not something that changed when the first message went below 0 days.

Does anyone know what the first service message is about?

I got this for my birthday last month. I was washing it a few days ago and apparently on autopilot, and used BKF without thinking. All my other cookware is stainless steel so my habits took over.

After washing I did what I’ve already been doing… I put it back on the stove on 3-4 setting (induction) and add canola oil once it gets warm and rub it around with a paper towel and then turn off the stove. I put it away the following morning.

I used it today and it seemed ok but not as good as it was before.

I have two questions:

Should I do anything different to fix the damage I did by using BKF?

Besides the obvious mistake the other day, am I taking the correct steps after washing to keep it in good condition?

I really love this pan - I’m not sure why I didn’t get one sooner!
