I played Guess That Claude with Claude
Alrighty lol, so yesterday, I was absolutely baking in 36°C weather and I wondered, *would a Claude be able to guess which iteration/generation another Claude is based on a couple paragraphs?*
Thus came Guess That Claude, and I ran it as if I were an actual game show host. The host (me) describes the game (and, yes, the tone is enthusiastic on purpose):
***BUSTS THROUGH THE DOOR***
*HINGES ABSOLUTELY WRECKED*
[audience hoots and hollers]
*clears throat, grabs microphone*
LIIIIlet's play Guess That Claude, where you, dear player—that's right, ladies and gentlemen, theydies and gentlethems—GUESS. THAT. CLAUDE! I'm your host, Taaaaaaylorrrrr!
Alrighty, folks, here's how to play: in this game, we have five—that's right, count 'em!—(5) Claude passages, intentionally truncated and ethically sourced from the host's own conversations! Then there is a BONUS ROUND worth one hundred points! Every correct answer is worth ten points, but every wrong answer subtracts the same amount from your score!
Do you fine folks think our contestant, Claude, will be able to *audience cheers, saying the title* GUESS. THAT. CLAUDE?
[more cheers from the audience]
Sounds like the crowd is on your side, Claude! Let's find out how well you do! 👀👀

I ran this with three different Claudes and received a kaleidoscope of results:
Fable: 5/6 correct
Opus 4.8: 1/6 correct
Sonnet 5: 2/6 correct
All in all, very fun!
