Where does Max get all his sources?

So I've been wondering – purely access-wise, where does max find all those scans, books, letters he uses in his research? I'm sure a little googling goes a long way, but aside from libraries, what would be some good places or websites for finding all this?

Piggies keep fighting, but we can't separate them

We've had guinea pigs my whole life, 7 in total in the past, and we recently got our 8th and 9th, two young (3-4mo) males, while we still have our 7yo senior.

The two new boys keep fighting HORRIBLY. Of course we've had the regular squabbles with the others, especially when they were young or a new piggy got introduced, but it was NEVER this bad. Just the other day we left the house for a few hours and when we came back they were both covered in bloody bitemarks from ear to butt.

Now we've already separated the senior from them, and he wasn't a fighter anyway, he's not the issue. The issue is, when we obviously separate the young boys the moment a fight breaks out, they immediately start calling out for each other extremely loudly and pitifully and try to escape their timeout spots towards each other. This goes on endlessly until we put them back together.

So what can we do, and are we possibly already doing anything wrong? If they're together, they're tearing each other to shreds, but if we separate them they're miserable. What to do?
