Putting a low-mount scope on a Model 98?

I have a WWII war trophy that my dad sporterized back in the late 1940s. It has a turned-down bolt handle.

I am trying to put a low-mount scope on it, but the bolt does not clear the scope. I have put some high-mount see-thru mounts on it, along with a cheek pad to raise my head a bit. It's OK, but not really what I wanted. I had a Model 70 style safety put on it, along with a Timney trigger.

My dad never took anything with it, and I would like to get a deer this season.

Have any of you dealt with this before?

Tomato spacing question

I have limited garden space, so sometimes I plant two tomatoes to a cage. Instead of 100 cm apart, they are 20-30 cm apart.

Assumptions: excellent soil, nutrition, sun, and watering. Harvest from single plant is 5 kg. Tomato is Cherokee Purple, if you need a variety.

Here is my question: If I plant two tomatoes as described, how will my harvest compare to the single tomato (5 kg harvest)?

I assume that I will not get 10 kg, but will I get more than 5 kg?

Thanks for your input!
