If this has already been posted, I completely missed it while searching.

I was trying to migrate several older Nest cameras to Google Home, but the "Move to Google Home" option never appeared in the Nest app.

I tried just about everything, waited months hoping it would eventually show up, and had no luck.

What finally worked was surprisingly simple:

1. Join Google Home Public Preview
2. Completely restart the Nest app
3. The Move to Google Home option appeared immediately

And yes... I know migrating to Google Home is a controversial topic. 😄 Plenty of people recommend staying on the Nest app, and that's totally fair. This post is simply for those who** **want to migrate but no longer have the option available.
