Where to start after graduation? Psych or Hospital?

I found out I really enjoy psych after my clinicals. But im scared since it’s been pushed down our throat to start at the hospital ER, ICU, MED Surge, Tele , etc.

These are my worries: I feel like I have to develop skills but when I mean skills I mean I feel like I’d be more of a critical thinker at the hospital not simply being able to do an IV. But does this matter? What if I work psych my whole life? But also what if I don’t?

Can I start in Psych and still develop those hospital skills later without being behind??

Please let me know if I’m wrong.

Did you have the same struggle? Any advice?

How can I use my RN license to its full potential? Let’s discuss travel, additional degrees, tips, jobs, pay etc

Hi! I’ll be graduating soon and although I plan to focus on gaining experience for 2 years. I still wanna plan ahead and do research to decide if it’s something I’m actually interested in.

To avoid this being insanely long I’ll list the things I’m interested in learning or discussing differently points of views or experiences.

1: what additional and quick degrees can I earn that could help me earn more money? ( informatics, management etc NOT NP. )

2: what certifications should I get?

3: specialties? Unicorn nursing jobs? What interesting job having you seen a nurse acquire?

4: Travel Nursing, also abroad? ( multiple professors have mentioned they’ve done this )

5: financial tips? LLC, tax, and pay negotiations?
