Now a professional biscuit maker... and I feel guilty
Our floofy boy is a pedigree Ragdoll, papers and all. He has always had a SUPER dense coat and every shed from winter to spring it ends up getting compacted and mats from the loose hair. This is even with constant at home grooming and professional grooms.
This year he was really uncomfortable and had some mats form on his back quarters that got to the point they were clearly painful and unrecoverable. So-- we decided we would give him a clean start. We know his fur color will change- but we don't care. We want him to be comfortable. After bringing him home from his semi-sedated vet sponsored haircut he became a completely different cat.
He is now a professional biscuit maker, having never really made biscuits before. He wants to be touched where he was more of a "love me with your eyes" cat before. And the cuddles!! He has never cuddled before. I'm giddy with all the new affection - but also feel awful knowing he was likely in more pain than he let on. A cautionary tale <3
