Big box lithops and care tips?

Big box lithops and care tips?

I found lithops for the first time ever at Lowes and had to pick some up, unfortunately they were in 100% organic soil and doomed. I put them in with a mix of small lava rocks and very minimal organics. I figure I shouldn't water until they shrivel a bit but I was wondering if Im doing anything wrong and what stages each one is in. Also there were no labels so I have no idea the species/cultivars. The grow light is just supplemental, its in a south facing window that gets good sun its just really rainy right now. Any tips on keeping these rocks alive would be appreciated 😅

Wanting to get started where are good spots to look?

I've been thinking of starting metal detecting as im into old junk and this sub has caught my eye. I know that just like in fishing its a cardinal sin to give away a spot but are there any tips of types of properties that are worth looking around? I live in a pretty suburban area in Florida but there are pockets of history regarding Spanish, Seminole war and WW2 training. I know state parks do not allow metal detecting and I respect that. Just trying to think of ways to minimize hits on soda tabs and beer bottle caps. 😅

I know the beach is probably a good start and any tips for that are welcome too, I just would like to use the darn thing somewhere else besides the beach sometimes. ⛱️

REAL piece of 8 from 1784

Came into possession of this Piece of 8, Thought it could be a restrike but went and got it looked at by some local numismatic experts. Free weighing and a spectrometer later and I now know this baby is legit. By far the best piece in my collection now by far. Felt so good sitting at the counter hearing them agree one by one!

Any opinions on this?

I received this as a gift from someone who works at a Disney resort that is being remodeled. This was displayed in a pirate themed bar and passed off as authentic. There were only 3 and somebody handed them out and it ended up in my hands. I got it checked at a hole in the wall pawn shop and it is silver but they didnt know coins. I've contacted an actual numismatic nearby but just was wondering what yall thought. I just know most fakes dont use real silver and if any company has money to have authentic pirate stuff behind glass for a themed bar it would be Disney. It should also be noted we live on the Treasure coast and these coins have been found nearby especially by Mel Fisher.
