Would you rather expand the LKC or build your own castle?

So I just finished sorting a 2nd LKC’s pieces to make one giant castle MOC when I realized this endeavor would be tougher than I realized. This is when I started to wonder if it’s even worth it when I doubt I’ll achieve the same level of detail as the LKC and will undoubtedly take a few years and several thousand more pieces to accomplish. I then started to think about simply expanding the LKC, maybe adding a great hall or expanded armory. Start small per se, maybe when I’m older and have more money and space actually make a huge MOC. Thoughts?

Looking for some advice on how to sort on this 8x8 organizer

Currently only have 1 x Y plates running by color per column and then by stud length by row, but on the longer plates (1x8,10,12 x) they don’t reach the right end. What do yall do in this situation? Leave them empty? I could try to fill it with tiles or respective 2 x Y plates but wanted some advice. I was already planning on simply pouring my less common pieces into one single tray

Thoughts on using alt bricks for MOCs?

Will likely expand my medieval display soon and so far I’ve made 2 gobricks orders for rock/terrain and support bricks and they’ve been pretty good so far in terms of clutch power and color matching in the grays/tans.

The only reason I’m not buying official LEGO is because they refuse to ship to my country and also to 3rd parties/port forwarders meanwhile these Chinese seller offer free shipping and discounts higher than VIP point cashbacks. Of course I still buy LEGO whenever I can, in fact a lot of the green plates and stuff for grass I get official cause the alt bricks’ green is not well matched like other colors but I do this through eBay in bulk (and not even at a super great deal).

I hope I get to go Germany to LEGO Fabrik some day, I’ll bring back like 2 suitcases full of LEGO for sure. Do you use alt bricks in your MOCs?
