My parent is hinting at suing me over a piece of furniture.

Location: North Carolina. My parent has recently demanded that I return a vintage cabinet that they gave me 8 years ago. They say that having the original receipt proves they still retain ownership and can come take it any time. I don't understand how a receipt for a thrifted item they willingly gave me 8 years ago could be used to make me give up a piece of furniture. They seem to think it is worth more money now so I assume that is why they want it back. I am concerned about the structural integrity of the cabinet because it barely survived the last time we moved it 4 years ago. I also use it and until the moment they demanded it back I was unaware that it was anything other than hand-me-down furniture. The parent is hinting at getting the law involved because I have cut contact recently. Is there a reason in this for me to be concerned that they may, at minimum, try to make this a civil case?

Neon with double sport varigation 🌿

My Neon loves to throw out the occasional Jade and Albo sport leaves. This is the second leaf to have both in one! I thought it was neat and wanted to share. Happy growing everyone! ❤️
