Just received verbal offer

I just received a call from the hiring manager for the job I interviewed with at ESD. I was informed that I was their top candidate and was asked if I am in still interested. I was told the next steps are that my information will be sent to HR for creation of the official offer letter. I am wondering how long this usually takes. I was told I could potentially start on the 1st or as late as September 16th and if I was okay with either of those dates. I have read some of the older posts and time frames for receipt of the official offer are all over the place. Any insights on the rest of the process would be greatly appreciated.

Second Interview and reference checks

I just completed my second interview for a position with ESD today. I found out from my references that they have already been contacted. Does this mean I am there top candidate and could potentially be offered the position?

Question regarding hiring process

I applied for a position with ESD and the job closed last Thursday. Friday morning I received a notification that I passed the recruiter screening and all further contact would be made by the hiring team. After hiring team review, I was called first thing Monday morning to schedule an interview. I currently have an interview scheduled over Teams on Thursday. What is the complete hiring process? When there be more interviews following this one on Thursday? I am just wondering about the whole process.

Made it past the recruiter phase

I applied for a position with the state last week and I was notified today by the recruiter that my application meets all the requirements to move to the next phase. It was sent off the to the hiring team so hopefully I get selected for an interview.
