Hi,
Been using wheel strategy, primarily short puts over the last 9 months. Only been assigned 3-4 times over about 50 trades. Generating about $2000-3000 USD each month (as high as $6k and low as $300).
From CRA (Canada revenue agency) is this considered income generation vs capital gains? I know it's a grey area with CRA, but has anyone had to prove they are not running a business, meaning being taxed at favourable capital gains vs income producing?
Worried that my income of $30-40k for the year may trigger the gains to be taxed as income vs capital gains.
