Male, in my late 20s. I started experiencing pain in my distal joints a few years back, and was diagnosed with RA less than a year back. I was prescribed Sulfasalazine, and have been taking it regularly (2gm/day) ever since. It stopped the pain, but lately I have been experiencing some painful flare ups in my fingers and palm. Are flare ups normal even when one is taking meds?

Also, I'm an artist and having swollen finger joints hinders my work.
