I bought a new, unopened PS5 controller from a reseller because I wanted to turn it into a custom gift for my girlfriend. I’m planning to give it a Sakura-themed design and add four remappable buttons on the back.

After getting it, I tested everything to make sure it worked properly. Out of curiosity, I also checked its factory information.

That's when I noticed the manufacturing timestamp: March 17, 2026, at 16:18.

March 17 is a special date for us. It's the day we first told each other “I love you.”

I went back to our messages to double-check, and sure enough, that conversation happened later that same evening.

The controller was manufactured roughly two hours before that moment.

Obviously, it's just a coincidence, but I still find it incredibly sweet. I bought the controller simply because it was the right one for the project, with absolutely no idea when it had been made.

Now I'm even more excited to finish the customisation and give it to her. It's already a personal gift, but this little coincidence makes it feel that bit more special.

Sometimes the smallest, most unexpected things end up meaning a lot.
