I will never be able to sleep again with all this noise coming from inside my head; how can these others hear the noise when it is coming from inside my head? I am disappearing inch by inch into this house, I am going apart a little bit at a time because all this noise is breaking me; why are the others frightened?

This is an excerpt from Eleanor's mind in Haunting of the Hill House. I have never read a horror book before this one, and the text is now playing with my head.

I cannot figure out if Eleanor was haunted or just mentally ill.

Eleanor makes up stories on her drive to the Hill House. She suffered from loneliness and had to take care of her mother for years. During her stay at the Hill House, she has nightmares and delusions that others are always talking about her. This is textbook onset of psychosis.

But Eleanor alone isn't experiencing such a phenomenon. We know that the knocking on doors. and the cold spot in the Nursery is happening to Theo, Luke and Dr.Montague as well.

So my questions remains.

Is Eleanor mentally ill or haunted?

My reading journey was filled with emotions I hadn't felt ever before while reading a book. I went in completely blind and didn't check any reviews.

Part 1 was agonising. Sadness and pain were the only things I felt while reading it but I also kind of knew that there was some hidden meaning in everything that I am missing.

Part 2 was chef's kiss for me. The chemistry between Kaine and Helene, the manipulation of eternal flame, the slow burn between them, all of it had me by the throat.

Part 3 seemed rushed to me tbh. I wanted the book to last a while. Their daughters section ripped me to pieces.

I don't think I will ever recover from this book. I want to re-read but can not bring myself to go through this agony again.

It's been a while since I have read Urdu novels. Looking for recommendations on good urdu novels with well written characters. Preferably a book written in last 5 years. I keep on seeing Bogi no 12 and Sulfite but don't know if those are good books. Help a girl out!

My sister gave initial for GDMO two months ago. She cleared the initial and was told by ARSC to wait for a call for Psych Evaluation. It's been almost two months, and she hasn't received a call back. Her other fellows also haven't received a call back for Psych Test.

Can anyone guide why the delay is happening?
