tips for applying to idol fests?
Hello! I just wanted to seek advice for applying to idol fests. I’m curious especially about the experience of those who have been accepted to multiple. I’d love to see how you fill out your applications as well as how your audition criteria and content looks if you don’t mind sharing? Any and everything helps.
To be frank, recently at least where I am from, idolfests seem to be based more on who you know vs actual talent. I’ve witnessed multiple idol fests accept the same acts in the same state for the same events repeatedly and it’s always the same group of people (ex: they do it under one group name one year and another the next) which is kind of discouraging because idol fests should be about talent and those who work hard and give their all. Networking / being friends with the hosts should not be the deciding factor.
