Deinfluence Me Community - Poll on possible new rule

There was a recent post asking for what amounted to relationship advice.

In light of this, the mod team is considering adding a rule to keep this sub on the topic of things that can be bought and the poster end up with a physical object if the are not de-influenced.

This is not to shame anyone for the questions they may be seeking advice with. It is simply to keep this sub on the task it was created for. There are many relationship advice subs out there, we don't need to become one too.

You have a week to vote. We will take the poll results into consideration, but they won't necessarily dictate what we decide.

If you have questions, feel free to comment or sent a mod mail.

Thanks all.

EDIT: to clarify, this poll is to ask the following:

Yes - come up with a new rule to prevent off topic posts. Keeping the sub to things that can be bought for money. (People are not things).

No - don't touch the rules. Leave them as is. (Alternatively "Ain't nobody got time for dat").

Deinfluence me - Community Notice

Hi everyone.

Just a quick reminder that part of the process for posting here is keeping the community updated of your decisions about what you've asked us to deinfluence you about.

If you can please make sure you're updating your posts to reflect whether or not the community has helped to deinfluence you, or whether you went ahead with the purchase, that'd be great.

Deinfluence Me - Community Flair suggestions for posts

Hi all.

We've just had a few new people join the mods team this week. I am one of these newbies.

We've been talking amongst ourselves, and think that we could either add some options to the post flair list, or add some funny bits relevant to the post flair category, similar to what has been done already.

If you have a suggestion, please leave it in a comment, specifying whether it's a new - stand alone flair, or something you think would make others chuckle at an existing one.

At the end of the week, we will look at adding the best or most liked suggestions.

Please remember to keep within the rules of the sub. If you need a reminder, please feel free to read them.

We will be reviewing any comments that go against the sub's rules.

Remember to be kind - opinions are like a face - everyone has one. Just because you don't like someone else's, it doesn't mean you have the right to criticise them for it.

I look forward to seeing the suggestions.
