IJW: The Idiots (1998)
I just saw The Idiots by Lars Von Trier.
It was very interesting and something that would be pretty hard to pull off nowadays.
The reviews were mixed and I understood both sides of them.
Although I liked it more than I thought it would, I can say I see what it meant and how ugly it is.
For those who've seen it, was the ending a justification? Or did it show you a 'why some are doing this'?
Either way it left a bit of a mark on me and inspired me in some weird melancholic way to write a script inspired by an insane group of folks I grew up with and inspired by this film.
I hope you get to see it but it won't 'hit' for most.
This is one I'd only recommend to cinephiles and no one else.
If you've seen it, what do you think?
