Drop year at sastra?

Hi everyone, I'm currently in my 3rd year at SASTRA. I finished my first 2 years okay, but the academic pressure has been building up and it's taken a real toll on me mentally. I'm exhausted, and I've started questioning whether engineering is even the right path for me anymore. I'm seriously considering taking a drop year to step back, breathe, and figure things out — but the tricky part is I've already paid my tuition and hostel fees for this year, so it feels like a big decision to walk away from that. I know everyone goes through some kind of "I don't know" phase, but this feels heavier than that for me. Has anyone here actually taken a drop year mid-degree, especially after already paying fees? How did you make that decision, and do you regret it or not? Would really appreciate any experiences, advices or perspectives, not just "it'll be fine", trying to think this through properly.
