Epic Games has left EasyAntiCheat incompatible with Windows HVCI for years and nobody takes responsibility

After years playing Rocket League on Steam, I'm genuinely disappointed since Epic Games took over.

EasyAntiCheat prevents Windows core memory protection (HVCI) from being enabled, without any notification to the user. The only way to restore this security feature is to fully clean EasyAntiCheat's registry keys and drivers manually, because Steam does not handle this automatically on uninstall.

This is a well-documented issue reported by thousands of users on Microsoft and Epic's own forums since at least 2023, with no fix provided to date. Microsoft's official response redirects to Epic, Epic's support redirects to online guides. Nobody takes responsibility.

The game itself runs fine without the kernel-level driver, which raises questions about why it is installed in the first place for a game like Rocket League.

Great game, poor technical stewardship from Epic Games AND Microsoft.

For those who doesn't fully understand, here's a quick way to put it:

"HVCI (Hypervisor-Protected Code Integrity) prevents malicious code from being injected into kernel-level processes. With it disabled, a potential attacker or malware can execute code at the deepest level of your system, bypassing most security layers. It's one of the most critical protections on modern Windows systems."

⚠️ IMPORTANT (EDIT):

This post describes a security problem related to Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC). I do not recommend modifying or removing EAC, as this can lead to bans or system problems.

My goal: Alert Epic and Microsoft to fix this conflict with HVCI (a critical Windows kernel protection).
