Full-Time Uni & Disabled
Hi everyone. Please don't be mean to me about this - it is something that genuinely keeps me up at night and I feel like I am about to explode regularly 🙃 I am looking for advice or direction on where to work while studying.
I am a full time university student in Sydney and have been working at McDonald's as a crew coach for 2 years with a cluster of dynamic physical and mental disabilities. I have been on DSP in the past and also have NDIS which hasn't been particularly useful. I have 10+ years of hospitality experience in bars, restaurants, fast food, etc.
I am desperate to leave Maccas because it is so physically and mentally taxing on me (multiple dislocations, neurological symptoms, etc.) while expecting a lot from me despite my disability disclosures (I can't get shifts covered if I have sudden health flares because I'm often the only one capable of and available for certain responsibilities). However I have no idea what other jobs would have similar flexibility and is less physical.
I have a degree with 1st class honours in medical science so I could do lab assistance or clinical reception - but they all seem to be full time or require professional experience. My current degree is in Animal and Veterinary Bioscience and I have a cert II in Animal Care (placement done in a vet clinic where I interned as a vet nurse). But I have looked into work in those fields and they mainly don't align with my availability. Is there anything like entry level data entry or statistical analysis that isn't just AI machine learning?
I also don't think I'm eligible for DSP while doing uni full-time and changing to part-time is just not an option for me because I'm 25 and want to get into vetmed. I want to graduate before I'm 40 lmao!
I'm so sorry to complain and I understand I could be in a much worse situation. I am just incredibly stressed and clueless and would appreciate some guidance/ideas.
