OWC Express 4M2 disconnects from mac after a while in low power mode
I recently started to keep my macbook connected to my OWC Express 4M2 in order for the Photos library to be scanned for faces (I would like to remove old partners photos from my library) but it disconnects unexpectedly when I leave my macbook on in low power mode.
I don't see any options for keeping hard drives awake in system settings on MacOS 26.7, I'm using four Intel 660p 2TBs in a dual mirror raid for redundancy and using an encrypted APFS volume across the four drives. I did not use SoftRAID and I refuse to pay a subscription for RAID functionality, it is a MacOS native array configuration. I frequently come back to the message "Disk Not Ejected Properly - Eject ... before disconnecting or turning it off." It has been connected consistently via the included OWC thunderbolt cable. Are there any system settings I should try changing or is this likely a defective unit?
This is the USB4 model and I have a 2023 MBP with an M3 Pro chip. When it happens, I have to unplug the power supply from the 4M2 enclosure before it will reconnect, reseating the thunderbolt cable doesn't resolve it, password prompt only re-appears after doing so, and disks are not shown in Disk Utility until a few seconds before then.
