Beware of scam
So I’m doordashing like usual, and I get a Pizza Hut order, as I’m about to pick my order. I get a call from someone posing as DoorDash support. They said that the customer that I’m going to drop off the food off too is cursing drivers out and trying to fight them so they want to cancel my order because of how problematic they are. I’m fairly new to doordashing so I didn’t think nothing of it. The customer was also cursing me out via DoorDash messaging system. The guy on the phone proceeds to tell me stay on the line he’s gonna get my order cancelled and also compensate me for risking my safety and also wasting my time. I’m like bet, I’m getting 20-40$ for free. One thing leads to another the order gets cancelled. ( the customer and this guy in the phone are both in cahoots, when the customer cancelled the order the doordash support poser says it should be cancelled now) it was very hard to figure out this was a scam because this was so elaborate. Then the guy sends me a DoorDash help link to verify my email and OTP code. This phishing website I didn’t realize at the time looked so realistic http ://dasherhelpsection.com/verify I didn’t think nothing of it. But the guy was telling me how a lot of dashers gets logged out throughout this process and not to worry. I get logged out and I try to log back in and it says my email doesn’t exist. I look through my emails I see email has been changed for your dasher account. Phone number has been changed for your dasher account. Then I realized this was a scam and I quickly called doordash support. 4 days later I finally got my account back but they were able to steal my hard earned money 😭😭. The social engineering skills the guy on the phone with me working with the customer. Just everything was so elaborate. Scams are getting scary now a days. Be careful yall
