Account disabled for "Unusual Activity" and stuck in an OTP verification loop
Hi Google Community Experts,
I am completely locked out of my Google account due to an automated security lockdown and rollback loop. I desperately need assistance to break this loop or escalate this for manual review.
The Timeline:
- 3 Days Ago: I logged into my account from a new location/device. I immediately secured the account by adding my recovery email, my recovery phone number, and setting up a Google Authenticator app for 2-Step Verification.
- Yesterday: Google's automated security flagged the sudden location change as highly suspicious. The system triggered an automatic security rollback to protect the account.
- The Result: I received an automated security email stating "Authenticator app removed as sign-in step." My active browser session was killed ("Session Expired"), and the account was placed into a hard "Account Disabled" state due to "unusual activity."
The Current Problem (The Loop):
Because the automated safety system completely stripped away my newly configured Google Authenticator app during the rollback, I cannot use it to verify my identity.
When I click the blue "Try to restore" button and attempt Account Recovery, Google defaults to only one option: It insists on sending the verification OTP code directly to the disabled email address
Since the account is disabled, I cannot log in to view the inbox to get the code.
Clicking "Try another way" does not offer my recovery phone number or recovery email as options. It completely skips them and goes straight to the "Couldn't sign you in - You didn't provide enough info" screen, leaving me completely trapped.
What I need help with:
The automated recovery system is broken because it is trying to send the verification code to the locked inbox instead of using the recovery phone or recovery email I attached.
Could a Product Expert please escalate this case to the Account Recovery team so I can be provided an alternative way to verify my identity (such as triggering the recovery phone/email checks properly) to reset my password?
Thank you so much for your time and help.
