It's possible to verify the phone number via Telegram - not sure if it's only meant for new users
Not sure how long ago this was implemented, haven't seen it announced before.

This is not "just another useless app", there's more to it than meets the eye.
Listen to Aikiu bringing it all together for us. 24 minutes of non-AI material, with history and valuable insights in what this could all mean for the future of Openmind collab, robotics, Pi Network
TLDR; Not meant for those looking to fill their bags with $$.
A word of reassurance by a M in Node Chat, for those still in doubt.
In true Pi CT fashion (not Q1 but Q2), Cidi Games have arrived.
Pi Elf is awaiting for Pioneers to level up, chop woods, rpg.
Have fun!
Edit: This is beta only, some features/games still mossing.
CT is well aware of this, but nothing has been done about it, since i reported it for the first time, 4 months ago.
During that period, the base mining rate dropped from 0.0025641 to 0.002132 - a decrease of roughly 16.85%.
Yet my total mining rate decreased by less than 1%.
The reason is: 200% Lockup for 3 years and steady node bonus growth from running a long-term node with high uptime and decent availability (96.94%).
Based on the calculations, the increasing node bonus offset roughly 59% of the mining loss caused by the falling base rate.
If you are all about accumulating more Pi and not worrying about its value in Petrodollar, still plenty of time for that.
Run in circles, shoot zombies, boost weapons, avoid zombies, kill time - not innovative, but nicely done, phone doesn't stress (heat up) until later stages.

Context - this was a 3rd party app truly promoting GCV.
It was heavily staked (iirc, 3.5M Pi, but I could be tripping), taking first place when you select Main Net + Hackathon tabs - in general, those apps were last year's hackathon submissions and are waiting to be recognized by CT and fully incorporated in the Ecosystem, gaining true visibility.
From what we are seeing, CT is in the process of reviewing ecosystem apps (rumour is that 80% of the apps have been reviewed), perhaps we will be seeing this as part of the Pi2Day announcement as this part of the project has been neglected for a while now)
