Rode bike or ride bikes?
My coworker and I were having a conversation where he made the statement "my wife and I rode bike". I informed him on how awful that sounds and the correct way to say it would to be "we rode bikes" with an s on the end of bike. He vehemently disagreed and another coworker chimed in agreeing with him. Are they right? And why does it sound so awful to my ears to hear it their way?
