Dynamically Render a 3D Character in UI Toolkit | Inventory & Equipment Pt. 5

Dynamically Render a 3D Character in UI Toolkit | Inventory & Equipment Pt. 5

This is Part 5 of Build Inventory & Equipment Systems with Unity UI Toolkit, a beginner series that teaches the foundations of UI Toolkit by building a complete inventory and equipment system in Unity 6.

In this tutorial you'll render a live 3D character inside the equipment window using a dedicated layer, a PreviewCamera, and a RenderTexture. You'll also write a PreviewRotateManipulator so the player can hold right-click and drag to spin the character.

Debug Your Game in Real-Time with Dear ImGui

My brother and I recently started a new podcast called Quest to Compile. We cover game development with a .NET focus and just put out an episode on Dear ImGui.If you're not familiar, it's an open source library built for creating debug and dev tooling that you can use at runtime. We go through what it is and how to get started with it.

We're also looking for ideas on topics to cover next or even guests to have on the podcast. Is there anything you'd love to have us cover?

Build a Unity Game with GitHub Copilot + MCP

My brother and I started a podcast called Quest to Compile, which is all about game development in the .NET world. The first episode is about how you can use Unity's MCP integration with GitHub Copilot. It covers the setup, some best practices, and shows some of what it can do by building a small prototype.

The podcast will be spread across several YouTube channels, so if you want to catch new episodes you can either save the playlist ( https://aka.ms/Quest-to-Compile ) or subscribe to my channel ( https://www.youtube.com/@staceyhaffner ).
