Western astrology has 4 elements. Korean astrology (Saju) has 5 — and the missing one might be why you clash with certain people
So I fell down a rabbit hole and found out Korea has its own version of astrology called Saju (사주), or "Four Pillars of Destiny."
Instead of the 12 houses and sun/moon/rising we use, it reads 4 "pillars" — the year, month, day, and exact hour you were born. From those it builds a chart around 5 elements: wood, fire, earth, metal, and water (we only really lean on 4 in the West).
The part that got me: it's less "you're a Leo so you're dramatic" and more about which elements you have too much of and which you're missing — and apparently when two people's missing elements line up, that's the "compatible" match. Koreans literally check this before marriage lol.
Genuinely curious — has anyone here explored Eastern systems like Saju or Chinese BaZi alongside Western astrology? Does the "elements" angle click more than houses for you?
