Baggage Damage Reimbursement Success
I searched through prior posts and found one about a damaged bag but not many comments. My monos luggage (https://ca.monos.com/products/check-in-medium?variant=46409231565110) was damaged during a recent journey. They must have tossed it the wrong way and one of the zips locked into the lock mechanism popped out and is visibly bent / part of it broke off inside the lock. When my luggage arrived on the carousel it was partially open.
I took all the proper steps of reporting at the airport. I have been offered a replacement bag but from the selection at Rynn. All of these bags retail around $200 whereas if you use the link to my bag, it is currently costing close to $400.
I filled in the form asking for a true replacement or at least the cost of it. There is a reason why I bought this brand and the damage is not simple wear-and-tear but related to obvoius mishandling.
I'm wondering whether anyone has had any success asking for compensation that better matches the damaged item and if so, what avenues you took in order to receive it.
